This test is based on the article, Installation and Adjustment of the Hollister-Whitney Rope Gripper™ and counts as 1 Contact Hour (0.1 CEU) towards recertification.

Learning Objectives - After reading this article, you should have learned about:
the history of and code requirements for elevator emergency brakes.
the principle behind the Rope Gripper™ emergency brake.
the components and basic operation of the Rope Gripper.
proper mounting of the brake unit and pump unit.
Rope Gripper control circuits.
testing and inspection procedures for the Rope Gripper.
Testing Procedures:
Once the applicant has paid for the exam they will receive the article in PDF format by email. The test will be given online and will consist of 11 multiple choice questions.
Enrollment Procedures:
1. Register and pay online with a credit card.
2. You will receive an email confirmation with the article and instructions for taking the exam.
3. Study article.
4. Use the provided online link, ID, and Password to login to the Online Testing Center.
5. If you scored 80% or above, you will receive your one contact hour certificate of credit via email.
